Zel is a brave woman. If that were me in there, the spider would probably be eating my face off. no really. The line art for this one had been sitting on my hard drive forever so I finally got around to finishing it.
I really can't take too much artistic credit on the clouds in the background. It's basically photo of mine that I painted over and altered to fit the composition. The grass and stuff I used a special brush for. But I don't remember who made it. The brush file is called "tutorialb" or something, so obviously I found it in a tutorial pack. If you recognize it, let me know so I can give proper credit. Comments
The shadows make the wall feel too close. Sure, she might be standing, like, right next to the window, but there still should be a little bit more space. Fuzzy the shadows more and erase the one that the spider is casting, because it makes the wall distance inconsistent.
The window has no depth to it - it looks like a painting. Deepen the shadows and add a ledge: it's kind of hard to explain in text, but real life windows reside in a hole in the wall. Also, since it looks like the major light source is from the room and not the exterior, add a bit of a reflection on the window pane itself. -- -"Dot" Beware of Falling Plot Bunnies There's some really ambitious textures in this piece! It's really interesting. I'm not sure that the pitch of the neck reads clearly though... The spider may be a bit dark. It was difficult for me to pick it out at first. I really like the concept of the shirt, it's fantastic! Sorry for the disjointed comment!
Thanks a bunch! I wasn't completely sure how to handle the shadows and I definitely agree the window looks flat. I don't know if I'm going to edit this one or not, but I will definitely need to keep that in mind for next time.

The lighting is quite nice, particularly on the back of Zel's legs, and the outside lighting creates a really otherworldly atmosphere. I don't know if this was intentional, but it's interesting and adds to the mysteriousness of the piece.
Anatomically, I feel that Zel's profile is inaccurate, and the point where her head meets her neck, but as humans aren't really my specialty, I'm unable to pinpoint the source of my concerns. I really like her hands though; they're expressive and well-placed!
I should also mention that I really like the textures you've achieved throughout, and the little details here and there. The tally marks on the wall, the surface of the metal, the woodgrain, the cracked window pane... they all look really good.
