My entry for the Kick your own @ss contest: [link]

This is for the digital gallery
The one from 2002: [link]
The one from 2009: [link]

I know some people can improve this much in two years instead of seven, but I'll take what I can get. I obviously had no sense of anatomy, volume, lighting/shading, drapery, details, etc. I probably used dodge and burn for the one of the left, that's pretty bad.

I still suck at backgrounds D:

The texture is from :iconlilystox: here: [link]

Nice improvement! I ought to try this with one of my own old drawings.

It's a significant improvement. (As long as I continue kicking my own ass, I'm happy too.)
Looking forward to even more improvement from you!

Congrats on the improvement! :D

Well, you probably had a sense of all those things (otherwise the first picture would've been terrible), it's just that you have so much better sense of it now! And not to mention texture! All in all, I'd say that's pretty good for 7 years! :meow:

2002 is nice, but 2009 is bullshit :stupidme:

Amazingly huge improvement. You should be very proud of your progress. I always like to look at pictures like this that show how people have improved. It's really inspirational.

Great improvement! This was such a cool contest!

Wow, the new one looks awesome :D It looks so more realistic with the shading, folds and lack of outline, and I love the water. You did have a sense of those things doing the left one, it's better than anything I could draw lol I'm terrible at drawing. I used to use dodge and burn tools too; my entry is the same, going from dodge and burn tools to proper shading.
